This is often referred to as a root canal for baby teeth. Sometimes your child may experience tooth pain due to injury or a large cavity reaching the nerve of the tooth. In these cases, Dr. Karen may recommend a pulpotomy to remove the affected tissue and cover the remaining healthy tissue with a special medicated protectant. In many cases, this can prevent extracting teeth that can otherwise be saved!
